Easy to install

After removing the cover, you can use a flathead for prying the four major attachment clips from the passenger side of fob assembly. These are marked with red in the image below. Also note the locating tab slots, which are yellow, that need to be disconnected in addition.
After taking the battery off, replace it with a brand new # CR2032 3 volt coin cell battery. The "+" side of the battery should be facing the fob's opening and the "side that is "-" side should be facing the rubber buttons.
Attach the mirror cover to the passenger side by aligning locating tabs. Once you've done this place the fob that's on the driver's side back into your vehicle and test it. Press the push button on the front of the key. If everything is working properly your car will turn on the parking lights and the doors will automatically lock.

The BCM will then be able to read the transponder in the key fob, and verify that it's valid.
